Privacy Policy

Who we are

Darling Flower Farm is a small cut flower farm in the Clogher Valley, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland. We are the business responsible for the personal information described on this page.

If you have a question about your information, or want to use any of the rights below, email us at hello@darlingflowerfarm.co.uk.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us, plus basic technical information about visits to the website.

  • Enquiries. Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and whatever you tell us about your plans, such as a wedding date, colour palette or delivery area.

  • Bookings and orders. Your name, contact details, delivery address, what you ordered and a record of your payments. Deposits and balances are paid by card or PayPal, through a payment link or invoice, or in cash. Stripe and PayPal take card and PayPal payments, so we never see your card or bank details.

  • Guide purchases. Our online guide is sold through Payhip. When you buy it, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, your country and a record of your order. Payhip takes the payment through Stripe or PayPal, so we never see your card or bank details. We also add your email address to our mailing list, so that we can tell you when the guide is updated.

  • Florist accounts. Your business name, contact details and delivery address.

  • Mailing list. Your email address, your first name if you give it, and whether you open our emails or click the links in them.

  • Website visits. Information gathered through cookies, such as your browser and device type, the pages you view and your approximate location.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information, and our website is not aimed at children.

How we use it

We use your information to answer you, to grow and deliver your flowers, and, if you ask us to, to send you news from the farm. We never sell it.

What we do, and our lawful basis for it:

  • Reply to enquiries and prepare quotes: steps taken at your request before a contract.

  • Take bookings and deposits, fulfil and deliver orders: performance of a contract.

  • Send our emails, free guides and offers: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

  • Keep accounts and tax records: legal obligation.

  • Understand how the website is used, measure our advertising and keep the site secure: legitimate interests; non-essential cookies only with your consent.

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with the services that help us run the farm, and only as far as they need it.

  • Squarespace hosts our website and its forms.

  • MailerLite stores our mailing list and sends our emails.

  • ClickUp is where we keep track of enquiries and orders.

  • Payhip hosts and sells our online guide, takes payment for it and handles the VAT on sales to the EU.

  • Stripe and PayPal process card and PayPal payments for deposits, balances and the guide.

  • Our email provider and our bank handle messages and payments between us.

  • Google and Meta receive information about your visit through Google Analytics and the Meta pixel, but only if you accept those cookies.

  • Our accountant and HMRC, where the law requires it.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the EU and the United States. Where your information is transferred abroad, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

Cookies

Our website uses a small number of cookies, and you choose which ones when you first visit.

Some are necessary for the site to work and cannot be switched off. The rest are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner:

  • Squarespace analytics, which counts visits and shows us which pages are read.

  • Google Analytics, which shows us how people find and use the site.

  • The Meta pixel, which helps us measure our adverts on Facebook and Instagram, and show them to people who have visited the site.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing the cookies for this site in your browser, which brings the banner back.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it.

  • Enquiries that do not become a booking: up to 2 years.

  • Bookings, orders and invoices: as long as tax law requires, currently around 6 years.

  • Florist account details: while you order from us, and up to 2 years after your last order.

  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • show you the information we hold about you

  • correct anything that is wrong

  • delete your information

  • stop or limit how we use it, including for marketing
